Mango Treehouse

Welcome to Mango Treehouse, located on Magnetic Island in Far North Queensland. Magnetic Island is situated within the Great Barrier Reef Marine Park and is accessible via a 25 minute ferry or 45 minute barge from Townsville.

Getting Here

Townsville is the nearest metropolitan centre to Magnetic Island and can be reach by car, plane and the occassional cruise ship. You can fly direct from Sydney and Melbourne on Virgin Australia and Jetstar. From the airport, guests travel 10 minutes by car/taxi/shuttle to the Sealink Ferry terminal. From there, 18 ferries per day make the 25 minute trip across Cleveland Bay to the island ferry terminal in Nelly Bay. Guests who prefer to bring their own vehicle can book a transfer with Fantasea, who make 7/8 trips per day with the barge. The barge is great value for groups.

Things to See and Do

  • Snorkelling/Diving
  • Hiking
  • Birdwatching
  • Boating
  • Jet Skiiing
  • Fishing
  • Golfing
  • Tennis

Local Amenities

Magnetic Island has many of the local amenities (and perhaps a few more) to be expected in a regional area in Australia, including several grocery stores, a hardware store, bars, pubs, restaurants, a golf course, a bakery, buses, taxis, a police station and a post office. But one thing you won’t find on this island is traffic lights!
